Waffle Flower Crafts February Release Blog Hop

Hello crafty friends!! Welcome to the Waffle Flower February Release Blog Hop! I’m happy to be hopping with the folks from Waffle Flower to show you all the fun new stuff awaiting you on the Waffle Flower website! Be sure to check out each stop in today’s blog hop for fun, inspiration, and chances to win some of these new release goodies!

My card today features a bunch of products from this release including my favorite, the Woven Pattern Foil Plate and its coordinating Jumbo Checker Stencil.

To create this card I first hot foiled a 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ panel of white cardstock with the Woven Pattern Foil Plate in Opal Glimmer foil. Then with the coordinating Jumbo Checker Stencil, I ink blended over the panel with several Distress Inks (Kitsch Flamingo, Spiced Marmalade, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, Cracked Pistachio, Tumbled Glass & Shaded Lilac) to create a rainbow gradation. When I finished, I then rotated my stencil 180 degrees, aligned it slightly off-set with the woven pattern and then ink blended lightly with the same Distress Ink shades but this time starting with Shaded Lilac in the upper left corner instead of Kitsch Flamingo. When I finished ink blending I then die cut the panel down to 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ with the largest die from the A2 Layers Die Set and then adhered the panel to the front of an A2 top-folding white card base.

Next, I die cut all the layers for two crocuses out of white cardstock using the new Layered Crocus Dies. I then spritzed the flower centers with pearl shimmer spray. Once the centers had dried I then adhered the layers together with liquid adhesive. I then adhered the flowers to the card front with foam adhesive.

Next, I stamped and white heat-embossed a sentiment from the Happy Easter Duo Stamp Set onto black cardstock. I then trimmed the sentiment to a strip and then adhered it over the flowers with foam adhesive. Lastly I finished the card by adhering two iridescent sequins to the flower centers with Morning Dew Nuvo crystal drops.

  1. Beautiful card Chanin, I love the pastel background, perfect for the pretty crocus. Thanks for the inspiration!

  2. The woven foiled background is lovely with all the colors you used! And keeping the flower white it sets it off so much!

  3. Ah…..I love everything about this terrific card. The soft colors, the texture, the foiling, and the “pop” of the florals. You rocked it again!
